When sales are down, companies should not turn to training salespeople again and again, they need to train everyone else in company on sales.

They die because employees, regardless of job title don’t understand that when they serve the customer well, they are in sales. They die because company departments don't talk to one another. Having siloed sales and marketing departments is a classic brew for mediocrity and failure.
